Matt was born and raised in California. After studying Rhetoric at UC Berkeley, he graduated and started an education business that focused on college entrance assistance. In 2019 his students encouraged him to start a small podcast focused on fun thoughts they could enjoy on the way to school. Over the next two years, the show morphed into the only community resource that focused on bridging the gap between families who desperately needed school re-opened and those who insisted they remain closed.

Shortly after his move to Idaho with his family in 2022, he realized there was no source for new arrivals like himself to understand and learn about their new home state. The politics, education, recreation, and community were completely different than anything he had experienced before, and he knew something had to be done to not only help new arrivals learn about the state but also help all Idahoans finally connect with those running the state to avoid the pitfalls and false realities presented by social media.

Since 2022, The Ranch Podcast has engaged with leaders from all sectors of Idaho, including educators, politicians, law enforcement, fish and game, agriculture, medicine, and more, and this is just the beginning.
